Piano Extravaganza

Come hear students from the South Fraser region perform works by Chopin, Haydn, and Shostakovich, with the Surrey City Orchestra, conducted by Maestro Ken Hsieh on May 28th, 2023 at 7pm at White Rock Baptist Church 1657 140 Street, Surrey. These students range in age from 12 to 17 years of age, and study with some of Canada’s most prominent teachers. This concert is made possible by a generous donation from the Helga and Werner Hoing Foundation and the City of Surrey Cultural Grants program.


The Nutcracker

The Surrey City Orchestra is excited to once again be able to present Tchaikovsky’s ballet, The Nutcracker, on November 26th, 2022 at 7:30pm at the Chandos Pattison Auditorium in Surrey. The SCO will be led by internationally renowned conductor, Leslie Dala, who is the Music Director of the Vancouver Bach Choir, as well as guest conductor for Vancouver Opera and The Got Ballet. The orchestra will be joined by the Central Ballet Academy, Kvitka Ukrainian School of Dance, Vancouver’s Ammara Dance Company, and the award-winning Surrey Children’s Choir directed by Stephen Horning.


Music of Anime

Come watch Surrey City Orchestra’s String Quartet perform popular animé hits on Sunday, June 5, 2022 at 5pm at the Surrey Arts Centre 13750 88 Avenue, Surrey. Featuring tunes from Naruto, Attack on Titan, Dragon Ball, Demon Slayer, and Studio Ghibli, just to name a few!


Opera Lite

Join us for a some opera favourites on Saturday, June 4, 2022 at 5pm or 7:30pm at the Mount Olive Lutheran Church (2350 148 Street, Surrey). Local singers Melanie Krueger and Martin Renner Wallace, both having made a name for themselves with Vancouver Opera, will be singing selections from operas such as La Traviata, Romeo and Juliet, and West Side Story, while accompanied by strings and UBC Opera accompanist Richard Epp, on piano.
